Ever since I did my first check-in on my goals, I thought that it was a good idea, so let’s see where I stand.
1. Blog an Average of 5 Times a Week. I haven’t done it. I would have needed to write 20 posts by 2/28. I actually wrote 12, which translates to an average of 3 per week. Not bad. My best week (Mon-Sun) was this week with 5. This came largely on the strength of all the posts regarding my editing progress. Cool, that’s a large part of why I’m blogging. At this point, I’m beginning to think that 4 posts per week may have been a more realistic goal. That said, let’s see how I do in March.
2. Finish the 3rd Draft of AH1 (the continuously unnamed novel). This is in the bag! I am 54 pages from the end. Even with a low production week of just 10 pages a day, I finish on Friday. Worst case is that I finish three weeks early. Really, I am totally stoked about this to the point that even if I did squat on the other two goals I would probably still feel OK.
3. Be Ready for the First Triathlon of the Season. Still not so well on this one. Between work and personal stuff it has been hard to get a groove going. Also, I am prioritizing writing ahead of working out right now on days where I need to choose. So for February I had 1 no workout week, 1 almost no workout week, 1 OK week, and 1 on the mark. As long as I turn things around NOW, I should still be OK for my first tri. I may not feel ready at the end of March, but I guess it’s a good thing that I didn’t schedule one for that weekend.
Now, I’m not making excuses and I do want to note that it has been a tough month. Even with that, I feel pleased with how I did. On to March!
