Progress Update 2013.03.18

Today I feel like I have officially started the second book in the series!  I knocked out more than 1000 words on the backstory of my main baddie over the weekend.  I reread the last page this morning and felt like I had enough to make it work.  His motivations and how he operates seem clear to me.  I understand where he came from and how it influenced him and I’ve got a few of the major components of his plan.  So I pressed on and started the outline.  I got stuck for a bit (I really wasn’t expecting that right at the beginning and I will probably write about it later this week), but still managed to get the first two chapters down and I started my list of characters.  I really feel like I’m in business already.  It feels good.

I know that I want to finish the outline by the end of next week.  Since I haven’t outlined it yet, I don’t know how many chapters that would be :p  Using ye olde Magic Eight Ball for advice yields an answer of 40-50 chapters in total.  So, with that, my goal is to have the first 20-25 chapters plugged into my outline by week’s end.

  1. Does this mean you’ll be ready to join the April session of Camp NaNoWriMo? Mwahahaha….

    • I see trouble on the way! 😉

It doesn’t fit my plan, but hmmmm. Will you be doing it??

      • No, I’m nowhere near ready to start a new project. I’m still aiming for regular November NaNoWriMo for the next project, and focusing on rewriting Book 1 for now.
