This has basically been a take the good with the bad week. I have a really good day of writing. I have a not so good day. I have a computer that’s working. I have a computer that’s not working. I have the burn to write. I’m falling asleep at the keyboard. I wrote every day. I barely blogged. I suspect that as I continue to Nano, I won’t be doing quite as much blogging.
On balance, the average is pretty good. I’ve done 11,900 words this week with Saturday and Sunday still ahead of me, so I should easily top last week’s 12,100 words. I’m about 3,000 words short of where I want to be, but that’s not too bad. The best part of all is that I’m 12 days into this project and at 30% of my goal for the 1st draft (the word total for the 1st draft is larger than my Nano goal). Really, you can’t beat that.
Starting today, I have my son for the next seven days, so I do expect my production to be lower. But I am feeling a little like I am in a groove and most importantly like I’ve got momentum, so we’ll see how that plays out. My “realistic” goal is to do 9000 words over the next 7 days.
