Today starts my week of writing!
I have taken the week off from work to focus on my book and give it a shot in the arm. Originally, I was targeting this week as a week to wrap things up and work the kinks out of the epublishing process. It was essentially padding in my schedule, but as the weeks/months have gone by my project has flagged a little.
So here I am 300+ pages (still) from the end of what will, probably, be my last editing pass and I’ve got a lot of work to do. With that in mind, I’ve got to lay out a goal. At this point, I think the only goal that makes sense is to finish the line editing by week’s end. That is definitely a stretch as that means I’ll have to go through 50 pages a day, which will require 8-10 hours a day. But hey, what are week’s off for? Right??
After the line edits, I’ll probably still have some tweaks to do but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. My new goal is to get the book launched 12/1. I’ve updated the BC 1 page to reflect where I actually am with the process and I’ll be keeping it updated each day this week.
The other big news is that I’ll be scouting locations for the cover shot this afternoon (US EST). I was supposed to be doing that right now, but my photographer has a cold, so we’re going later today. Of course, given the cold, this could translate into tomorrow. But either way, it feels good to be taking that step. Maybe I’ll post some test shots!
